Announcements for July 1

Saturday, June 30th, 2007
  • Aletheia Friday program: Vertical Connection Night will start this Friday at 7:30pm sharp in the Aletheia Lounge. In continuation with the connection theme, we will be learning how we are directly connected to a God so divine. Please bring your bible, a pen, and your journal or paper.
  • Hosanna program: Iron Chef this Friday at 8pm at Church.
  • .COM will be having their first game next week, July 7th, at 6:00pm, at Beverly Glen, which is located in the Warden and Finch area. Please come out and support the team! If you’re interested in coming out, you can ask Adrian Yu, Eunice Chan, or Eric Mok for directions. Hope to see you on the field!
  • The Short-term Mission team to Panama has been formed. The team will be conducting VBS classes, conducting evangelistic programs, doing visitations and follow-up work. They will be going from July 28 - Aug 7, joining 20 other brothers and sisters from other Chinese Alliance Churches from Canada. The six team members are Cynthia So, David Ng, Karen Phung, Richard Poon, Teresa Poon and Lucilla Leung. A prayer support sign-up sheet is posted on the Mission bulletin board at the west entrance. Please sign-up to pray and to support their preparation as well as their trip in Panama.
  • Trail Mix Children Day Camp (Jul 9 - 20) registration has begun! All children from Grade 1-6 (as of September 2007) are invited to attend! If you like to register your child(ren) for this summer camp, sign up today! Forms are available outside the Fellowship Hall or on Carmen’s desk in the office. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak with Gloria Wong (trailmix@tjcac.org) or visit www.tjcac.org/english/trailmix.
  • Our Church Summer Conference “Love God, Love others” (Aug 4-6, Sat-Mon) at Sheridan College, Oakville with Dr. Stephen Lee and Rev. Calvin Fong. Do prepare to attend.
  • As announced last Sunday, Pastor Yung has submitted his resignation and been accepted by the Church Board. He has sensed God’s direction that another pastor should lead our church in the years ahead. Pastor Yung will leave at the end of September. Please pray for wisdom for the Board in the transitional period and for Pastor & Mrs. Yung.
  • Praise the Lord! We have hired Eric Mok as Children Ministry Assistant and Stephany Lau as Outreach Assistant this summer. Eric will officially begin on July 3 and Stephany on July 16. Please speak with Pastor Arthur if you have any questions.

  • Aletheia Friday program (June 29): Arr-letheia, break out your thinking caps and running shoes – we’re scavenger hunting this Friday! The fun begins at seven. Don’t make us start without you.
  • Hosanna program: Hosanna Outing. Check website for updates.
  • Trail Mix Staff meeting will be held on Saturday, June 30, at Fellowship Hall from 9:30 - 12pm. LITEs, group leaders, general helpers, and adult helpers, are asked to attend. For more information, please contact Gloria Wong (wong.glo@gmail.com).
  • Collision is having their first game on June 30th! Please come out and support our team in the stands and cheer our team on. We will be playing 2 games at Oriole Park which is North of Sheppard Ave. and Don mills Rd. The first game will begin at 4:00 pm and the second game will begin at 6:00 pm. Please bring sunscreen, water, and a hat/ umbrella to cover up from the sun. All Players are reminded to come 1 hour before a game starts to warm up. We hope to see you there!
  • Longlac Offering: We would like the congregation to participate in the ministry of Longlac through gifts giving (e.g. new craft materials, new clothing, etc.). If you feel the Holy Spirit leading you towards giving gifts to Longlac, please do so today. Please drop off your donations on Dan’s desk.

  • Alliance University College & Canadian Theological Seminary in Calgary has now changed it’s name to Ambrose University College & Seminary. Its latest magazine, Link, can be pick up in the foyer.
  • “Magnificence” is a charity concert benefiting Toronto City Mission on June 30 in Markham Chinese Presbyterian Church. Ticket price is $5.00 (Advance), $10.00 (At Door) & $15.00 (With a CD Album). All admission fees proceeds to Toronto City Mission (http://www.torontocitymission.com). TCM exists to share the love of God and to break the cycles of poverty in Toronto.
