Announcements for December 28

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008
  1. Welcome to our English worship. If you are a visitor with us today or this is your first time at Jaffray Church, please take time to complete the new comers’ card and let us know about you.
  2. Year end Thanksgiving Gathering will be held on Dec 31(Wednesday) at 9pm. Rev. James Leung will be sharing with us. Do take this opportunity to come and encourage one another through thanksgiving testimonies. Refreshment will be served. Those planning to share please register outside the foyer for proper scheduling.
  3. English Congregation will be at Fair Havens Bible Conference Center (Beaverton, ON) January 2-4. Those who are not able to attend the entire retreat are invited to come in on Sunday for worship (11am). There will be NO English Worship / Sunday School at Jaffray. However, Children Ministry will run as usual. Pastor Matt will be at Jaffray on Sunday.
  4. Winter Camp bus ride list is posted in the west-foyer table. Please check to make sure your name is on the list for departure and return trip. The departure time will be Friday January 2 6pm sharp. Please arrive at Jaffray no later than 5:30pm. The bus will leave Fair Havens after lunch on Sunday and should arrive at Jaffray around 3pm. If you have any questions, please speak with Adrian Yu as soon as possible
  5. We thank God that the departmental posts for 2009 have been allocated to the following elders. Please remember them in your prayers.

  6. During the remaining month of December, the Caring Committee will be collecting non-perishable food (such as baby powder milk and baby food, canned meat, canned fish, canned beans, canned fruits and vegetables, spaghetti and sauce, boxed milk, peanut butter, rice) for the food bank. We invite all to bring them to church and drop them off at the collecting boxes at the East and West entrances.
  7. The English Congregation will be taking a “congregation” picture on Sunday January 11. The service will end around 10am and everyone will be asked to gather at the stage for the picture.
  8. The Sunday School Department is short of 1 TV and DVD set. If the are brothers and sisters that wish to upgrade their own home TV sets and wanted to donate the current units to the church, please contact Elder Danny Soo. The units to be donated must be 32″ and larger, and less than 6 years old.
  9. To avoid confusion in financial reporting, start in 2009, TJCAC will no longer accept designated offerings, brothers and sisters are asked to send their offerings checks directly to the charity organization. If you would like to know the mailing address of specific organization please contact financial department.
  10. Brothers and sisters who would need to claim ministry expenses of 2008, please direct all check requisition forms to your departmental elder as soon as possible. All completed and approved forms have to be forwarded to the financial department before Jan 15 2009.
  11. Pastor Arthur is preaching at TCCC’s youth retreat from December 27-30 at Camp Iawah. He will return to the office on December 31. Please pray for his travel safety and preaching.
  12. Dan Trinh is in Longlac for evangelism ministry and will be returning on January 1. The roads to Longlac is extremely treacherous in this time. Please pray for his safety

  1. Welcome to our Joint Worship. If you are a visitor with us today or this is your first time at Jaffray Church, please take time to complete the new comers’ card and let us know about you.

  2. We welcome the following brothers and sisters to join our church family through baptism today: K.Y. Ha, Dung Thai, Chin Chung Mo, Si Ying Zheng (Jenny) & Jun Pan (John). Also we sincerely welcome Bora Gunn, Matthew Gunn, Elaine Ho & Vincent Ho as they transfer their church memberships here

  3. There will not be Aletheia & Hosanna program this week. Have an excellent end of the year! see you in 2009 : )

  4. Bookmark Hand Out - Today, after church, there will be a bookmark distribution to the community to invite them to the Christmas Celebration on Dec 24. We encourage everyone to participate! Lunch will be provided beforehand in the kitchen. Please meet Melissa Kwan at the white house at 12:45 pm.

  5. Christmas Eve Service will be held on Wednesday 8pm in the sanctuary. Dr. Dennis Ngien will be the speaker for the evening. Come and join us for an evening of music, drama, and message. Children program will begin in the Fellowship Hall at 8pm. Invite your friends and family to come join us as we celebrate the coming of Jesus! Invitation bookmarks can be obtained in the East Foyer.
