WELCOME NIGHT!!

It will be the night of their life, where they will experience what they have never experienced before and never will again!! Be sure you are there to be a part of this exciting event!

ALSO!!!! Arthur will be…DYING HIS HAIR PURPLE!!! Yes, THAT’S RIGHT. Arthur-Hair-Purple-Arthur-Hair-Purple-Arthur…got the message?!! So come at 7 pm if you want to see this once in a lifetime event, cheer him on, take pictures…and laugh evilly! MUAHAHAHA.

FAMILY MATTERS

  1. Welcome to our English worship. If you are a visitor with us today or this is your first time at Jaffray Church, please take time to complete the new comers’ card and let us know about you.

  2. Starting September 2, prayer meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 8-9pm in the church office..

  3. Aletheia Fellowship: Grade 12 Welcome Night! Come join us in welcoming the new grade 12’s to Aletheia! Program starts at 8pm in the white house!

  4. Aletheia CORE members for 2009-2010 are: Sam Phan (Chair), Dorinda Mui (Administration/Treasury), and Kristen Tam (Small Group). Mentors are: Gabriel Ng, Arthur Wong, Dorcas Yung.

  5. Hosanna Fellowship: Welcome Night!!! Welcoming the new Hosannanites! Hosannians? Hosannanese? …ANYWAYS!!! Come. COME. CoMe!!! 8PM @ CHURCH. :D

  6. Hosanna’s new planning committee starting September will be: Christopher Chui (Chair & Men’s Care), Lawrence Yip (Vice Chair & Technical), Wendy Tan (Administration & Treasury), Stephanie Lam (Women’s Care), Timothy Cheng (Rec & GM), and Terence Chan (Worship). Hosanna counsellors are as follows: Ricky Yu, Matthew Gunn, Gloria Wong, and Arthur Wong (Advisory). We also like to thank Tristan Poon, Jessica Chin, Joelle Chang, Christopher Chui, Lawrence Yip, Stephanie Lam, and Terence Chan for their hard work in 2008-2009.

  7. A new Sunday School term will be starting in September! Please select your choices in the bulletin insert and hand the form back to Holly Chau, Sophia Kwan, Jonathan Mui or Stephanie Yip today after service. If you have any questions, please speak with Holly.

  8. Junior Choir 2009 registration has begun. Registrations are available at the east-foyer outside the sanctuary, as well as online (http://www.tjcac.org/english/children/choir/). Registration forms are due September 6th, 2009. If you have any questions, please speak with Dorinda Mui (dorrrie@gmail.com).

  9. English Prayer Net has begun! If you are committed to praying for Jaffray, please sign up with Bora Gunn (prayer@tjcac.org) as soon as possible. Bora will email you weekly prayer items so you can pray even if you cannot make it to prayer meetings.

  10. Our summer students: Gabriel Ng, Melissa Leung, and Grace Hsu, have completed their work term. Their ministries have been a great blessing to many. We thank them for their faithfulness and diligence!

Others:

  1. Frosh ConneXion 2009 will be held on Thursday August 27 from 6-9pm at Toronto Chinese Methodist Church. It is a networking event designed to connect incoming first-year university students to campus fellowships across Ontario. It is free for first-year students, $5 for upper year students. BBQ is included. For more information, please contact fx@afc-ca.org

  2. Toronto Resound is a showcase of performances and artistic expression celebrating the stories that have come out of AFC’s (Ambassadors for Christ) student ministry. It will be held at the Fairview Library Theatre on Tuesday September 1 at 7pm. For tickets please call AFC @ 416.494.7171.

  3. Teens Conference 2010 is looking for volunteers! Teens Conference is an annual high school student event that happens during March Break to get this generation excited for Jesus. Do not delay! For more information, visit: www.afc-ca.org/tc2010/

Aug 28 - Grad Nite!

This Friday come and say goodbye to our grade 11s! Come and enjoy a time of fun and bonding! As we have been doing for a few years and as many people like it, we’ll be having a semi-formal night. Please also bring $2 each to cover for the costs of the night (there will be food).
