PROVE YOUR CULINARY SKILLS?!

This week is IRON CHEF so come out and show your parents just how pro you are at COOKING!

Be prepared for a MESS, a MASTERPIECE, GAMES and lots and lots of FUN!! :D

Come out at 8pm at church in the fellowship hall!!

Please note: Don’t wear your nicest clothes… (:  and please BRING 3 DOLLARS for the cost of food! Thanks! : )

FAMILY MATTERS

  1. Welcome to our worship. If you are a visitor with us today or this is your first time at Jaffray Church, please take time to complete the new comers’ card and let us know about you.

  2. Prayer meetings are held on Wednesdays from 8-9pm in the church office.

  3. Aletheia Fellowship: SOCK RUN! We’ll be heading downtown together on Oct 31st! Please sign the waiver form and hand it in TODAY to Dorinda if you’re going. More details will be emailed this week!

  4. Hosanna Fellowship : Iron Chef, 8pm @Church; see www.tjcac.org/english/hosanna or check your emails for more information.

  5. Junior Choir has practice next week in the choir room from 12:15-1:15pm.

  6. The Church Revival Meeting (Cantonese) will be held on Oct. 30-31(Fri./Sat.) from 8pm-9:30pm. Dr. Stephen Lee is the keynote speaker. All are invited to come. There will be children program for both sessions.

  7. Church workers and volunteers are invited to join Dr. Stephen Lee on Oct 31(Sat) for a morning retreat (10am-12:30pm). Meeting will be conducted in Cantonese. Children program will be available.

  8. There is a need for volunteers for the children’s ministry program on Oct 30th from 8-9:30 pm and Oct 31st from 10am-12:30pm, and 8-9:30pm. Please contact Matt Gunn email: matthew.gunn@tjcac.org or (416) 282-2063.

  9. Family & Caring department presents: “The Art of Living with Elderly Parents” by Ms. Felian Ho on Sunday November 8 in the Fellowship Hall from 1:30-4pm (after the lunch program). Note: It is offered in Cantonese only.

  10. Baptismal Courses will be held on the following Fridays: Nov. 13, 20, 27, and Dec. 4 from 5:30 – 8pm. Baptismal interviews will be held on the weekend of December 11-13. Those who wish to get baptized at the Christmas service (Dec. 20) are asked to contact elder Danny Soo or Pastor Arthur as soon as possible.

  11. Finance department requests the name as well as offering number be written on offering envelopes. Offering numbers can be obtained from deacon William Ng or elder Patrick So.

  12. Jan-Sep 2009 Offering Records are now posted in the East-side bulletin board upstairs. For any inquiries, please contact Patrick So.

  13. Daylight saving time ends this weekend. Please do remember to move your clock 1 hour back this Saturday night.

Others:

  1. It is that time of the year again for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. Please plan to fill a shoebox for under-privileged children worldwide. An Operation Christmas Child shoebox will be handed to every child at Jaffray. Every parent is encouraged to help their child put together at least one box for this year’s drive. Our goal is to make 75 boxes! Please bring your boxes back to the church office by November 15 and do not forget to enclose a cheque for $7 per box to help cover the shipping.
