Announcements for December 13

FAMILY MATTERS

  1. Welcome to our worship. If you are a visitor with us today or this is your first time at Jaffray Church, please take time to complete the new comers’ card and let us know about you.

  2. Prayer meetings are held on Wednesdays from 8-9pm in the church office.

  3. The monthly fellowship luncheon will be held today at 12pm. All brothers will do the setting up and clear up of the lunch program.

  4. Aletheia Fellowship: We will be having a dinner together this Friday! Invite your friends! More details to come! Check your emails! :)

  5. Hosanna Fellowship: Bible Study this Friday at church at 8pm.

  6. Christmas Day Baptismal Joint Service will be held next Sunday at 10:30am.

  7. Holy Communion will be held on December 27.

  8. Christmas Eve Service will be held on next Thursday at 8pm in the sanctuary. Come and join us for an evening of music, performance and message. Please invite your friends and family to come join us as we celebrate the coming of Jesus! Invitation bookmarks can be obtained in the East Foyer.

  9. A new Sunday School term began last week! Please check the board just inside the White House to confirm your class and location. If you have any questions, or have not yet signed up for a class, please do not just join a class, but first speak with Holly Chau.

  10. Winter Retreat will be held at Fair Haven from Jan 1-3rd, 2010. Cost: $90 for ages 12+, $45 for ages 5-11, $0 for ages 4 and under. Today is the absolute Last Day for registration. Forms can be found in the West foyer after today’s service and at www.tjcac.org/english/winter_retreat .

  11. The goal of 2010 Mission Fund is set at $ 141,950. If brothers & sisters who would like to pledge today, please fill in the pledge form, and put it into the offering box. We also encourage each family pick up one copy of Mission handbook.* *

  12. Chinese Sunday School ministry presents: “My hand writes my heart”. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to submit any paintings, poems, pictures, short stories, or arts, they create out of a devotional experience with Christ this past year. The work must be no more than 8.5”X11”, Christian-faith based, and original. Please submit entries by TODAY to Ernest Chu, Patrick So, or Carmen Li. These works will be published by January 2010.

  13. During the month of December, Caring Department will be collecting non-perishable food (such as baby powder milk and baby food, canned meat, canned fish, canned beans, canned fruits and vegetables, spaghetti and sauce, boxed milk, peanut butter, rice) for the food bank. We invite all to bring them to church and drop them off at the collecting boxes at the East and West entrances.

  14. Brothers and sisters who need to claim expenses for the church in 2009, the dead line is Dec 27. Please submit the check requisition form with departmental elder approval signature to Pia Liu or Sharon Chu’s mail slot before Dec 27.

  15. New 2009 Church calendar has been printed. Each family takes one copy, please.

Alliance Women Ministries presents “Ladies’ Day Apart – Shock Proofing the Troops! Dealing with the Stress and Busyness of Life” with Connie Driedger at Quinte Alliance Church, Belleville on Saturday April 24, 2010 from 9:30-3:30pm. For more information, please email Olga Greeley at olga@sea2sea.ca . The cost before April 1 is $35, afterwards is $45.

a bunch of humans CHILLING OUT and having loads of FUN in a GROUP!

YUP!  That’s what’s happening this week at Hosanna!  So be prepared for a LOT of BONDING with all your fellow cell group members!! :D

We thank the Lord, at the Annual General Meeting last Sunday, the church members have elected 6 nominees as 2010 elders: Caleb Chau, Belinda Cheng, Herman Mo, Danny Soo, Daniel MT Wong, David Wong. Together with Rev. Ting, Peter So & Sam Wong, they will form the Board of Elders for 2010. The 2010 budget was also adopted. Please pray for the new Church Board as they will be allocating departmental responsibilities and appointing deacons/deaconess positions.

  12. We are saddened by the passing of Ivan Mak’s and Adwin Lam’s grandfathers in Hong Kong this past week. Please pray for them as some families will be heading to Hong Kong. Ask the Lord to give them strength and comfort in times of mourning.
