Announcements for February 15

  1. Welcome to our English worship. If you are a visitor with us today or this is your first time at Jaffray Church, please take time to complete the new comers’ card and let us know about you.
  2. All baptized Christians are welcome to partake the Holy Communion today.
  3. Hosanna Fellowship: Bible Study @ 8PM @ Church. You know what to bring…so bring them :)
  4. Aletheia Fellowship: Aletheia will be going on a retreat this weekend — hope to see you there!
  5. English Congregation will be taking their first annual photo today after the service.
  6. The monthly fellowship luncheon will be held today at 12pm. Timothy Fellowship & Youth Career Group will do the setting up and clear up of the lunch program.
  7. In thanking the Lord for our big church family, we are holding a “We © Our Family” variety program, with fellowships and groupings of different ages and languages. Program includes Chinese and Western musical instruments, skits, hymns, and more. All are invited to praise and give thanks, while sharing the family love in Christ.
  8. The Yin Lai Ladies Group has decorated a gorgeous booth featuring the theme of “We © Our Family”. All families, fellowships, committees, or other grouping, are invited to have their pictures taken at the booth by Caleb Hsu, which can be forwarded via email.
  9. Mosaic #2 (Age 22-26) will be meeting on Saturday February 28 from 7-9pm in Pastor Arthur’s office. We’ll be studying the book of Ecclesiastes. So bring your Bibles! For more information, please contact Pastor Arthur or email: mosaic@tjcac.org.
  10. A new Sunday School term will be beginning in March 2009. Please select your choices for courses next term using the bulletin insert, and hand the forms to Sophia Kwan or Holly Chau today after service is over. If you have any questions, please speak with Holly.
  11. Offering receipts for 2008 can be picked up in the front of sanctuary after Service. If you have any inquiry of the receipt, please contact Sharon Mo.
  12. The General Management department would like to remind the congregation: (1) DO NOT park cars next to the fire route, if possible, consider double parking near the far east-end of the parking lot; (2) Remember to turn off the water taps after use.
  13. The internship for Daniel Trinh will officially end on April 30. We thank the Lord for his (and his family’s) 4 years of service at Jaffray, especially in the Aletheia, Outreach, and Short-term Missions Ministries. May the Lord bless him in his seminary studies and his ministries ahead.

  1. Alliance Joint Mission Conference, “All for Jesus, Jesus for All.” will be held on July 1-5 at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. Early bird deadline for registration is Feb. 22, 2009. For registration and fees, please contact, local representatives, Richard Poon or Betty Chin.

  4. Urbana 2009 is right around the corner! It will be held from December 27-31 in St. Louis. Get ready to learn about critical global issues, worship with thousands, and be challenged by others who will testify to God’s work among the nations.   5. Centre for Mentorship and Theological Reflection will be presenting “The Cross, Suffering and Spiritual Bewilderment” at Tyndale Seminary on Thursday June 18 from 6:30-9:30pm. Speakers for this year include: Dr. Alister McGrath (Oxford University), Dr. Michael Haykin (Southern Baptist Theological Seminary), and Dr. Dennis Ngien (Founder, Centre for Mentorship and Theological Reflection).
